Viewing Life in Black and White

Quick post before I eat dinner and catch up on two weeks of Game of Thrones - winner!

I've always been the type of person to view the world in shades of grey. There are two sides to every story and nothing is ever seen in black or white. Recently though, i'm starting to view the world as one or the other. It sounds harsh but its simple once you get going:

If you don't like the way you look -

Go to the gym. Lift weights. Run. Release endorphins.

If you don't like your job -

Make a change. Be the change. Quit. Take a chance.

If you miss someone you haven't seen -

Tell them. Whats the worst that can happen?

If someone has a negative effect on your life -

Drop 'em before they drop you.

If you wanna learn a new skill or language or whatever -

Take the plunge. Do it. Start at the beginning and try.

If you wanna show someone how you feel -

Use your words. Communicate.

It may seem reductive but it's worked for me for the last month. Drop what doesn't matter. Keep your friends close and make an effort with them. Its common sense but its often lost on people that wanting to see a change in someone is not a healthy way to exist.

I've been lucky enough to make some incredible friends in the last couple of years that have my back when I feel like i'm drowning in my own head. Be it going out for a beer or a night watching movies and dancing to Despacito (YES, STILL) - i'm a real lucky boy with a bright future.

Now, off to Westeros for me ;)
