A Strange Few Weeks

Happy New Year everybody! I turned 29 on Sunday - it feels crazy that by this time next year I'll be 30 and with a baby too!

Today's post is just a little bit of a heads up for those wondering why I've been so quiet for the last week or so.

Some of you may have seen in the news that Jack Morrad went missing just before Christmas, and unfortunately his body was found and identified last week. Jack was a good friend of mine in school - in fact, Jack was a good friend of anyone in school. He was a nice guy, a good laugh, and even though we hadn't spoken in years he prank-called me only a month ago and then we discussed the baby, and how things were.

I'll always miss his endless optimism about West Ham, his knack for chatting absolute nonsense when he's drunk, but also the way he made everyone in a room laugh.

It seems crazy to think that he's gone, and my heart goes out to his family and also his friends who have been tireless in their efforts to find him. Rest in Peace, Jack.

Heres a photo of Jack, myself and our classmates at our school prom. Life is so short and so precious, and I hope that we can all get together soon to honour Jack.

Aside from that, there have been some difficult conversations within my family that I don't feel it right to discuss here, as well as stress regarding the property management company that manages my home. In isolation, I can deal with those things. All combined, it feels like a constant barrage of shredded nerves and paying out for numerous things.

Its also approaching the anniversary of Tom's death last year, and I'm really thankful for my family, friends, and Frankie for pulling me through.

So yeah, this month has been tough, but 2019 should be a good year  - it's fair to say I have a lot to look forward to.
